Military chaplain in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Military chaplain Vitalii Samovyk said that 700 military chaplains are needed in the Armed Forces of Ukraine but at the moment there is a lack of them. So that, Ukraine and foreign partners try to teach new chaplains for the army. There are some pieces of training for chaplains in Ukraine and abroad.

In the Ukrainian army, many soldiers believe in God and are Christians. Often soldiers want to understand the sense of life and chaplains help them not to lose faith.

Chaplain Vitalii Samovyk supports warriors before they go to the frontline and after their return. What is more, Samovyk helps wounded soldiers during the process of rehabilitation. It’s hard, says Vitalii Samovyk but it helps soldiers to endure psychological and physical pressure that soldiers often feel after they return home or hospital.

During Ukrainian Week 2024, the Chaplain’s forum took place in Washington. Police and military chaplains participated in this forum, achieved new knowledge, and shared their experiences with colleges from the USA.
